StepPure™ Multi-Stage Water Filtration System

During disaster event, access to clean water often remains a critical and challenging issue. The StepPure™ Water Filtration system would allow more victims access to clean and safe water for consumption, sustenance and survival.

The manually-powered system does not require electricity to operate, and thus are very appropriate for use in disaster-stricken and remote areas where power supply is affected or scarce. Using only bodyweight, the lightweight and compact 500L/h with Multi-Stage Filtration system is designed and developed by Golden Season. Each unit is able to fill approximately 320 bottles (1.5litre capacity) with filtered water per hour.

The system is compact and can be checked in as normal luggage, allowing humanitarian relief workers to transport the system along with their flights. Equipped with wheels, the system is easily transportable across challenging terrains.

Stepping activates the pump, which begins passing water through a Multi-stage water filtration process. This process removes particles larger than 0.01 microns including bacteria. Beside ultra filtration, the system also incorporates a carbon filter to remove foul smells and odors. The latest version of the StepPure was tested to be able to remove even heavy metals and salinity.

When the membranes are dirty, a pressure gauge will show an increase in pressure, indicating that the system requires cleaning. The membranes can be easily cleaned through flushing. During flushing, clean water flows through the membranes to expel the sediments and microorganisms stuck on the membrane surface. Thereafter, the membranes will be ready to produce more water.
